SUMMARY:TALLER WORKSHOP NECK ROPE
DESCRIPTION:Neck Rºpe\, Fa¡nting\, and What to do next: A safety workshop with a practical point of view. \nThis workshop focuses on mitigating the risks associated with one of the most dangerous aspects of Sh¡bari: neck rºpe. Many people enjoy playing with neck rºpe\, but how many of us know what to do when things go wrong—and have practiced handling such situations? Considering the inherent dangers\, both rigger and bottom should be fully aware of the risks and capable of responding effectively when issues arise. \nWhile this is a serious topic\, the class will be interactive\, fun\, and focused on maximising practical applications. Taught by Pen\, passionate about rºpe bottoming education and safety\, he uses his extensive training in human anatomy and physiology to empower both bottoms and riggers to explore rºpe play more safely and freely; and also by Gala who will use her experience in the rºpes field to lead the knot/r*pe-related part. \nThe aim of this workshop is to foster a better understanding of what causes fa¡nting in rºpe and to equip participants with an emergency management framework; particularly for handling fa¡nting situations. \nIn this workshop\, we will progressively build toward handling fa¡nting in suspension and demonstrate (and practice) a triage strategy that you can take away and apply to all rºpe scenes. \nThe class will cover:\n· The physiology behind fa¡nting in rope\n· Basic safety precautions\n· Some neck rºpe options for safer (but still fun) play\n· Emergency scenario management framework (suitable for all rºpe scenes) \nDue to the practical nature of this workshop\, it is best to attend with a partner. If you are unable to do so but would still like to attend\, please reach out\, as this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Note: If you do attend with a partner\, you are never obligated to participate in any of the exercises.\nThe prerequisites for riggers for this class are: \nConfidence managing suspension and a good understanding of up-lines.\nConfidence tying a structurally sound upper and lower body harness.\nCapability of assessing if they are working within their skill level. \nThe prerequisites for bottoms are: \nUnderstanding the difference between nerve injury or circulation.\nHave ideally experience being tied in neck rope (although not essential) \nNote: If you don’t meet the requirements but would still like to attend the workshop\, please contact the organization to assess your case.
